I began my first dispute with Airbnb and after 30 min on the phone, they claimed that the error was on their end, something to do with a payment link. If anything, they are a deterrent for the hard-working small business in getaways.įunny thing was it just so happened to be canceled the day after the refund was policy was no longer. They are surely not helping small business.

Booked and paid in 2 minutes through a very basic method. I deactivated my account and got in touch with the accommodation. I repeated, I have lost a whole day and it has been quite frustrating. That I would only have to go through this once and that would be the only time. But a lost day's pay due to a possible glitch? Who knows? AND who knows where all the photos of my different types of identity have traveled?! Airbnb tried to reassure me, it's ok. In the end, they could see my photos were clear. So, I repeatedly got coached over the phone as to how to take a photo, what angle to hold the camera, what lighting, what device, etc etc etc. Why? Because the date was now blocked out due to my booking and they also had my payment details. I messaged customer service during the day and I persisted. I submitted an honest review and they didn’t posted it but they did allow the host to give a negative review. Like other reviews here Airbnb sounds empathetic when you call them as a guest but they only care about the host. I even have videos but Airbnb platform does not permit sharing videos. I provided plenty of pictures to Airbnb and host and they both ignored it. Overall the stay was unpleasant and unsafe and not recommended for families, nonsmokers, or those seeking luxury. The non-refundable cancellation policy was for no-shows or cancellations. I booked 4 days and 3 nights and could only stay to sleep one night and took one shower due to the unbearable conditions. The host offered to fix the shower and fumigate, but I could not accept due to my busy schedule and to avoid breathing poison. The neighborhood felt unsafe and was not upscale. The washer was in poor condition, and a shower head was broken. The beds had polyester sheets instead of cotton and lacked top sheets. The furnishings had no luxurious quality.
